Are you looking for a new SUV around Carlsbad? When the Ford introduced the Bronco in 1965, it was the king of the (off)road. Setting the standard for SUVs, the Bronco quickly became an icon, and we are proud to sell it at Carlsbad Ford .

Introduced in 1986, the Jeep Wrangler, as the name implies, aimed at taming the mighty Bronco. But which one is the pinnacle of off-road vehicles to drive around Artesia today?

Power

The Ford Bronco comes with either a 2.3-liter EcoBoost I4 or a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6. The I4 can produce 300 horsepower and offers a 21 mpg combined EPA fuel rating. The V6 is capable of 330 horsepower and 19 mpg combined fuel economy. Paired with the 2.3-liter is a seven -speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic. The 2.7-liter is only available with the 10-speed automatic. The Raptor trim offers a 3.0 -liter EcoBoost V6 with 418 horsepower and 15 mpg combined fuel economy. Saving you money around Roswell.

Wranglers offer three engine options. A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 produces 285 horsepower at an EPA rating of 19 mpg combined. A 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 with 270 horsepower and 20 mpg combined. A massive 6.4-liter V8 is also available with 470 horsepower but only a 14 mpg combined rating.

Off-Road Capabilities

With over 11.5 inches of ground clearance, few places around Hobbs, let alone Earth, the Bronco can't go. With a track width of just 65 inches, the Bronco lets you sneak up even the tightest trails or parking spaces. A wheelbase starting at just over 100 inches keeps you stable on the road and makes it nearly impossible to high-center off. The Bronco also has the ability to ford 37 inches of water, depending on trim level.

The Wrangler takes the prize for ground clearance, measuring in with almost 13 inches available. The Jeep Wrangler also keeps it narrow with just under 63 inches of wheel track on some trim options. A shorter wheelbase of about 96 inches is also an option on the Wrangler. The Wrangler can only ford 34 inches at best.

Buy the Bronco

With numbers so close in every category, it might seem like a tough choice to pick what to drive around Midland. The wider stance and longer wheelbase of the Bronco offer more stability on and off the road. The engine choices save you money in the long run. Stop into Carlsbad Ford to test drive a Bronco today!
